Could a cup of coffee keep the doctor away?
We know that coffee has been linked to our longer lives, and now there is new evidence to emphasize the health benefits of coffee. The study shows people who regularly drink coffee may actually live longer even with the sweetness.
A study in Hungary and Queen Mary University in April 2022 found that coffee drinkers are less like to die and suffer from cardiovascular disease after having been collecting data from half a million people. According to Dr Steffan Peterson, one of the study’s authors, “To the best of our knowledge, this is the largest volume of research to date focusing on the cardiovascular effects of coffee consumption.”
In another study, the researchers from Guangzhou’s Southern Medical University in China showed the data from 171,000 of the UK Biobank and divided them into 2 groups : people who drink coffee with sweetness and people who drink coffee without sweetness.
Researchers have found that coffee drinkers are less likely to die no matter if they put sugar in it. And those who consume coffee with sweetness seem better, therefore, there were 31% are less like to die. In another one, researchers from Johns Hopkins University found that people who drink coffee were 15% less likely to suffer from an acute kidney injury compared to non-coffee drinkers. This led them to conclude that coffee could lead to a chance of cardiorenal protection through diet.
All in all, people who drank moderate amounts of coffee 1 to 3.5 cups per day gained the most protection against cognitive decline.
