Churros

If you like snacks of various types, you might be familiar with a typical Spanish snack called churros. Actually, churros is like a type of donut that has an oval shape and a jagged surface. In contrast to donuts that taste sweet, churros have a savory flavor and a crunchy texture on the outside whilst being soft on the inside.

Churros are made by deep frying techniques. These churros are best enjoyed while warm. To add to the delicacy, churros can be served with chocolate sauce as a complement. Let’s take you through the steps to make amazing churros!

Ingredients

• water – 250 ml
• butter – 50 grams
• sugar – 1 tbsp
• salt – 1/4 tsp
• medium protein flour, sifter – 150 grams
• green tea powder (optional, for a variety of churros green tea) – 2 tbsp
• eggs – 2

Steps

1. Add water, butter and salt until boiling and the butter melts. Reduce the heat. Add flour. Stir until the mixture is smooth and not sticking to the pan. Lift and let it warm.
2. Add the eggs, mix well using a wooden spoon until the mixture is evenly mixed, sticky but not too soft. Sprinkle green tea powder (optional), mix well.
3. Put the mixture into a triangular bag. Cut the tip and then put it again in a triangle bag that has been given a star syringe.
4. Heat cooking oil, sprinkle the mixture into cooking oil for 5-10 cm or according to taste. Fry until golden brown. Lift and drain.
5. Or you can also spray the churros mixture on a pan that has been sprinkled with thin flour, do it until the mixture runs out. Store for a while in the freezer until the mixture is hardened, then fried.
6. Wait until it is slightly warm, then wrap it with sprinkling ingredients then serve with chocolate sauce.

Tips
When frying, use low heat to get the best texture
Leave until the air bubbles when frying the churros is reduced and the color of the brownish yellow churros is a sign that the churros are cooked. Lift and drain on tissue paper.
